The Origin of Taoyeablok
The origin of Taoyeablok dates back to 1989 when Mr. Somchai Jantipwong, a traditional pharmacist, concocted an herbal powder for personal body odor control as being someone with a distinct body odor. After becoming unemployed at the age of 40, he spent over a year delving deeper into traditional medical knowledge until a relative suggested, “Why not turn this knowledge into a marketable product?” Inspired by the idea, Mr. Somchai thought of the body odor control powder he had been using and decided to create a brand named “Jabtao,” symbolizing the act of capturing odor, and the turtle was symbolized by Thais as body odor. However, the name could not be registered as the trademark and was later changed to “Taoyeablok” to convey the vision of expanding the product globally and meeting the diverse needs of consumers of all genders and ages.
